For Employees
Settlement Agreements
If you have been issued with a settlement agreement, it is very likely that your employers will make a contribution towards the cost of you getting advice from a solicitor. This contribution may meet all of our costs. If it does not, we can ask your employers for an increase in the contribution or advise you at an early stage as to how much legal expenses you may have to pay.
Employment Tribunal Proceedings
If you are taking a claim to an employment tribunal, we would very strongly recommend that you check whether you have legal expenses insurance, which may cover some or all of the cost of the work that we do. A very substantial proportion of home contents insurance policies carry with them legal expenses insurance. Many people do not realise they have this cover. You have the right to appoint your own solicitor to deal with this type of claim. We regularly act for most of the large insurers for this type of work.
Paying privately
If you are paying privately for the work that we do, we will give you an estimate at the outset and keep you updated as the case proceeds as to the likely costs.
